One of my favorite trips in 2021 was going to Ko’ Olina, Hawaii with my sweet siblings in honor of our Mama. Our Mama wanted nothing more than for her kids to spend quality time together while traveling to beautiful destinations. Due to Covid this trip was postponed a few different times. Thank goodness we were able to make it happen this time around!
When traveling to Hawaii, I normally go to the island of Maui (It’s just a slower pace there). The last time I was in Oahu was over 20 years ago (i’m really aging myself here lol) I just remembered it being so hectic, crowded and very busy. My sisters convinced me that there’s a different part of the island where you can stay that’s really relaxing, with beautiful beaches and away from all the hustle and bustle. Honestly I was very skeptical at first, but boy were they right! I was very impressed with this part of the island. The West Side of Oahu is now one of my favorite places to travel to. It not only reminded me of Maui but there were a lot more things to do as well! When we arrived we checked into the Marriot in Ko’Olina and visited the Aulani Resort daily (it was walking distance from our hotel). Let’s just say the beaches are less crowded and we had our very own private lagoon with spectacular views. I’m looking forward to taking Jeff and the kiddos this year. We are planning to stay at Disney’s Aulani this time around and I can’t wait to share the experience with you!
I rounded up a few of my favorite things to do while visiting this beautiful island. Below are some images of all the places we ventured and some of my favorite eateries along the way. Food Trucks are a must when you are in Hawaii! It’s just too good to pass up. I had such a wonderful trip and I was so happy to be able to spend some quality time with my brother and sisters. There’s nothing like having built-in best friends to travel with.
Thanks for being here! I look forward to blogging more about all the wonderful trips I am planning to go on. So stay tuned for that!
